Was a part of a historic CMU football team, winning 3 Mid-American Conference Championships and ranking in the Nations Top 25

Was named the Chippewas' Defensive MVP during senior campaign

Fun Fact: Wife, Stephanie, is a record holder for the Chippewas Track & Field team in the 4x400M Relay

Met wife, Stephanie in 2006 while attending Central Michigan University. They have been married since July 2013

They have three amazing baby boys, Logan, Swayze, and Murphy

Helped lead the Cougars to the State Championship game at Ford Field in 2005

All-City, All-Area and All-State athlete in Football and Track & Field

Inducted into Grand Rapids Catholic Central's Hall of Fame in 2017

At Pro Day, recorded elite numbers with a 4.38 40-yard dash, 41" vertical jump and 14 repetitions of 225 lbs. on bench press

Signed in the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2011

Fun Fact: Recorded a game-winning interception in first game action with the Fins against the Atlanta Falcons

Signed with the Dallas Cowboys  in the middle of the 2012 season seeing game action right away as a slot corner, safety and on special teams

Also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013

A defensive standout for the Argos for two season starting at every position in the defensive backfield

COMMUNITY INVOLVMENT

Spent time Personal / Athletic Training at the Freeland SportsZone and Midland Country Club before dedicating full-time to Michigan Made in 2020

Has volunteered time public speaking at schools and events in Michigan, Texas, Georgia, Florida and more

Volunteered at Midland High School as a Varsity football coach for 7 seasons

Started the Swagnew Foundation in 2013, benefiting Lupus research in the state of Michigan after his father nearly died from the disease.
