The Swagnew Foundation, Midland Rotary Club, Michigan Made and Northwood University Athletics combined to bring boys and girls a multi-sport youth camp completely FREE OF COST! 3rd-8th grade participants were able to spend the day on campus learning, training and competing in football and basketball alongside the Timberwolves Football team and the Men's and Women's Basketball teams. Every camper received a t-shirt, lunch and a game pass to future NU home contests!
With the support of an amazing grant awarded by Midland Rotary, Swagnew Foundation and Northwood University were able to join forces and make magic happen in our first Back2School Free Basketball & Football Camp🏀🏈
While there were some amazing performances from nearly 300 youth, we had some standout student-athletes who really made a name for themselves!
Shout out to Kameryn McFarland - Women's Basketball (7th Grade | Jefferson Middle School), Kaden Gensch - Men's Basketball (6th Grade | Hemlock) and Parker Maxwell - Football (5th Grade | Adams Elementary), who took home the day’s top recognition! Also shout out to Vivian Gardner who won the day’s raffle, a swag bag of great items + training passes!
The BIGGEST THANK YOU goes to Northwood University’s Coach Beurer, Coach Church, all of their student-athletes and the administrative assistants who made this day unmatched. Their energy was unreal from start to finish and it was contagious to every camper throughout the day!
We are excited to bring more amazing things to this community and cannot wait to run it back next year with all of you & Timby Nation 🐺
